He is exceedingly kind and generous, but never misses an opportunity to mention that he befriended both Jane Goodall and David Attenborough. His frustrated father expected him to become a doctor, but when his university studies verged toward animal biology, his mum would pinch him hard on the cheek, saying, “My Nigey likes snakes.”
